Stress-free moving?
Almost impossible!
But we can do a lot to reduce the tension, because moving doesn't end with packing things into boxes — someone has to unpack them too.
Meanwhile, the questions keep coming non-stop:
- Where is the speaker?
- Has anyone seen the basketball?
- Where did you put it? I can't find it! Is it in this box?
The solution is the INVENTORY!
Make a list of the boxes, number them, and write down what's in each one. If the move also involves renovation, it's worth placing the items and boxes that would be in the way during the refurbishment in a storage unit. Let's mark on our list which box is going where, so we save ourselves from constant searching — and we even save money, because let's face it, we tend to buy new things when we need something right away but just can't find it.
The list can be written by hand, or you can work in an Excel spreadsheet — whatever is more convenient for you.
The more adventurous can also use colour codes, broken down by area, e.g.: blue = bathroom, or personalised: Kitti = pink. It makes this huge task a little more fun, and the end result is a logical, well-planned, and less stressful move.
